The Alsaidi Chemicals Office Building required an external wall cladding system capable of responding to demanding climatic conditions while providing a durable, stable and consistent architectural envelope.

12mm ACFA Plus Fiber Cement Board was installed over a galvanized steel framing structure to create the external wall surfaces, combining moisture resistance and dimensional stability with a practical substrate for the specified final coating.

The installation extended across multiple levels and incorporated window openings and façade transitions, requiring careful coordination between the supporting framework, board layout and final architectural alignment.


The Challenge

The project required an external wall solution capable of maintaining consistent performance and architectural alignment under demanding site and environmental conditions.

The ACFA Solution

ACFA Plus panels were then mechanically secured using self-drilling countersunk screws, followed by joint treatment using a weather-resistant sealant and surface preparation for the final coating.

Installation & Execution

1. Steel Frame Preparation
Vertical studs and horizontal runners were aligned and anchored to the main structural steel columns, establishing the supporting framework for the external wall system.

Grid lines were established to control board positioning and maintain accurate alignment, particularly around window openings and across the different façade levels.

3. ACFA Plus Installation
The boards were positioned against the galvanized steel framework and mechanically fixed using self-drilling screws with consistent spacing and alignment.
