Decorative Feature Wall at Half Million, SEVEN

ACFA Carve HD Cement Board – Decorative Feature Wall at Half Million, SEVEN

Project Overview

Product: ACFA Carve HD Cement Board
Project: Half Million, SEVEN
Location: Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
Client: Half Million
Contractor: MAS Future Contracting Company
Application: Interior Decorative Feature Wall Lining

The Half Million café at SEVEN, Tabuk required a distinctive interior feature wall behind the service counter, combining architectural expression with the durability demanded by a high-traffic commercial environment.

ACFA Carve HD Cement Board was used to create a customized three-dimensional wall surface incorporating CNC-carved patterns, integrated digital displays, branding, and lighting within a unified architectural composition.

The completed installation demonstrates how cement board can move beyond its functional role as a lining material to become an integral part of the interior design language.

The Challenge

The design called for a prominent feature wall capable of delivering a strong visual identity while accommodating the practical requirements of a busy café environment.

The system needed to:

  • Create a distinctive custom 3D carved pattern.
  • Achieve a clean, continuous finished appearance.
  • Integrate digital display screens, lighting, and branding.
  • Provide a stable substrate for painted decorative finishes.
  • Withstand impact and everyday wear in a high-traffic commercial setting.
  • Maintain long-term dimensional stability with minimal maintenance.

The ACFA Solution

ACFA Carve HD Cement Board was selected for its combination of strength, dimensional stability, and suitability for precision CNC machining.

The boards were custom-carved to achieve the required decorative pattern and installed over a galvanized steel framing system. Careful positioning allowed the wall system to accommodate digital display openings and other integrated elements while maintaining the continuity of the overall design.

Following installation, the surface was prepared and finished with a premium paint system, transforming the individual boards into a visually unified feature wall.

The result combines customization, architectural expression, and durable performance within a single cement-board solution.

Installation & Execution

1. Substructure Preparation
A galvanized steel framing system was installed and accurately aligned to provide a stable supporting structure. Electrical and AV provisions were coordinated before installation of the boards.

2. Custom Fabrication
ACFA Carve HD Cement Boards were precision CNC-machined to create the specified three-dimensional decorative pattern and detailing required by the interior concept.

3. Board Installation
The fabricated boards were fixed to the supporting framework using corrosion-resistant screws and carefully positioned around the digital display openings. Precision-cut elements were used to achieve the required edge detailing.

4. Surface Finishing & Integration
The installed surfaces were prepared for the specified paint system, followed by the integration of digital screens, branding, and lighting to complete the feature wall composition.

One editorial decision I made deliberately: I removed the original “Project Benefits Requirement / Carve Cement Board Solution” table. Most of it repeated information already communicated in The Challenge, Why ACFA Carve HD?, and Project Outcome. Keeping it would make this case study feel more like a sales datasheet and less like the polished project-story format we established.

I also softened “crack-free” to dimensional stability / stable substrate. “Crack-free” is an absolute performance promise, and unless ACFA's technical documentation explicitly guarantees it for this complete installed system, I wouldn't put that claim into a published case study.
